In reply to SelfSufficientMarine.

Like your thinking, two things new to add to plans, imagine a freeway of vehicles, even if not a SHTF scenario, with majority electric and batteries run down … theres not enough towing, pushing or prying to get through that. Also, imagine in a not SHTF scenario the govt having to tow or recharge all those vehicles to make way. Also, I live close to Canada and USA border, many do not realize, last few years, businesses are planning manufacturing testing the Drones in those same plains and mountain area's. What to do with those … there is even a drone being tested now capable of carrying people … gravity fed slicer dicer if they fail … but this adds some thing more to consider … for the fellow planning to sail to Alaska … the ocean in what vast area current is sufficient to waffle and sink a ferry … then add in the John Franklin expedition of 1885 for some coles notes on sailing in the arctic … might even check out a few videos of the crab fisherman … then fully appreciate the water of which I am also a land lubber and no little to nothing about … except like Marine … I'll stick with getting to my rendezvous site … then on to places where even drones freeze, break up and blow away in brittle fragments …
